This massive June bug (about 1-1/2 inches long) was killed by the residual effect of Buggslayer Insecticide that was sprayed about a month before this photo was taken. The concrete step is wet from rain and this bug was NOT sprayed directly.
These beetles are nocturnal, coming to lights in great numbers. The adults are chafers, feeding on foliage of trees and shrubs. They may cause significant damage when emerging in large numbers. The larvae (called white grubs) feed on the roots of grasses and other plants.

We recommend you use our Buggslayer Insecticide for Ants, Spiders and Crawling Insects at 2.5 oz per gallon on lawn areas or 4.0 oz per gallon for a residual spray around your doors and steps, especially under your outdoor lights. The bugs will fly around the light, hit the ground and come in contact with where you've sprayed.
